    Details

A Swedish forehead headset for short daily focus-training sessions, with no subscription; the evidence so far is mostly about the sensor, not lasting benefits.

Current offer · checked Nov 8, 2026 Black Friday early access on Mendi's store: 25% off. No end date is stated. As advertised on their site

    What it does
A forehead headset that uses near-infrared light (fNIRS) to track blood flow and oxygenation in the prefrontal cortex, per Mendi, and turns the signal into a game in its phone app: about 10 minutes a day of focus training. It's a training session, not an all-day tracker. Battery up to 5 hours (about 60 sessions); several people can share one headset; recommended age 5+. For a headband that also tracks sleep, see Muse S Athena.
    Subscription
None. Mendi says the app is free with no ongoing subscription fees.
    Evidence note
Neurofeedback training for focus is an early research area. Mendi's headline figure (42% better sustained focus after 8 weeks) is the brand's own. The peer-reviewed study it cites (Boere, Hecker & Krigolson, 2024) checked that the sensor measures prefrontal activity; Mendi says that study isn't about the 42% result. Mendi says it's "not a medical device" and doesn't claim FDA clearance.

A soft headband that reads brain activity for meditation, focus training and sleep; its sleep claims rest on the brand's own data.

Current offer · checked Nov 8, 2026 "Early Black Friday: up to 20% off with BFCM26" on Muse's US store. No end date is stated. As advertised on their site

    Measures
Per Muse: seven EEG sensors read the brain's electrical activity, and an optical (fNIRS) sensor shows a "relative cortical oxygenation trend" during focus sessions. It also tracks sleep and sleeping position, and can play quiet audio cues meant to help you fall asleep and deepen sleep. Battery up to 10 hours. For a forehead headset built only around the oxygenation idea, see Mendi.
    Subscription
None required: the headband works on its own. Optional Muse Premium adds Smart Wakeup, an AI coach, cognitive-performance tracking, external audio and the full content library. A bundle with 1 year of Premium is $539. Premium's price on its own isn't stated on the product page.
    Evidence note
Brain-sensing headbands for meditation and sleep are an early research area. Muse's sleep figures (fall asleep up to 55% faster, 42% more slow-wave activity per minute) are marked as its own "internal data". Muse says it's "a general wellness product. It is not a medical device", and doesn't claim FDA clearance.
    US availability

Current offer · checked Nov 4, 2026 "Save up to $400" on Orion's store; a Queen showed $2,045. As advertised on their site

    Subscription
None required if you pay in full. Orion Intelligence is optional at $250 a year after a 30-day free trial and adds sleep tracking, heart rate, HRV, recommendations and hot flash relief; heating, cooling, basic schedules and the 2-year warranty work without it. Financed purchases include two prepaid years, which Orion's product page describes as required.
    Sizes & price
Queen $2,395, King $2,595, California King $2,695. Paying monthly: $199 down and "as low as $62/mo" for 48 months at 0% APR on approved credit, an example (its FAQ says $60) that would add up to about $3,079 to $3,175 for a Queen, including the two prepaid years. Check the total in your loan agreement. For comparison, the Eight Sleep Pod 6 Queen is $2,899 plus Autopilot from $199/yr, required for the first year (see its card).
    Measures
Water-based cover that sits under your fitted sheet. Each side can be set separately, with a water range of 50–113°F. Orion says it holds its temperature without internet, but that temperature control, schedules and sleep insights need a connection.

A neck-worn vagus nerve stimulator for stress and sleep: big marketing claims on early, brand-run evidence.

    What it does
Doesn't measure anything itself. It's a neck-worn band that sends mild electrical pulses to the vagus nerve through the skin on both sides of the neck, run from a phone app in about 4-minute sessions. Marketed for stress, anxiety, sleep, burnout and pain.
    Range
Pulsetto Lite $269, Pulsetto FIT $296. Free shipping, 30-day money-back guarantee and 2-year warranty, per the brand.
    Subscription
None required: the brand says the device is a one-time purchase and the free app includes 5 stimulation programs. An optional Premium app subscription adds custom stimulations and guided meditations. Conductive gel is sold separately.
    Evidence note
Neck-based vagus nerve stimulation for stress and sleep is an early research area. The site's headline figures (56% less stress, 41% better sleep, 27% lower cortisol after 4 weeks) come from the brand's own 2025 pilot study of 40 people. Pulsetto says it's "a general wellness product and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition," and doesn't claim FDA clearance. Its "FCC certified" badge covers radio emissions, not health claims. The brand says it isn't recommended for people with active implanted medical devices such as pacemakers.

    Details

A wearable ear clip that stimulates the vagus nerve, marketed for stress, sleep and recovery: bold headline claims on early, maker-run evidence.

    What it does
Doesn’t measure anything itself. It sends mild electrical pulses to the vagus nerve through an earpiece worn on the tragus (the maker, Parasym, calls it “Auricular Vagal Neuromodulation Therapy”), for 15–60 minutes a day. Marketed for stress, sleep, energy, HRV and recovery.
    Subscription
None found: sold as a one-off device purchase. Replacement earpieces ($50) and charger ($25) are sold separately.
    Evidence note
Ear-based vagus nerve stimulation is an early, mixed research area. The site’s headline figures (a 61% increase in vagus nerve activity, 48% less fatigue, 35% fewer anxious states) come from studies involving the maker. The product page says “Certified non-invasive vagal neuromodulation system” without naming the certifier, and doesn’t claim FDA clearance. The brand lists who shouldn’t use it, including people with an implanted electronic device near the ear, a severely low resting heart rate, or pregnancy, and says people with active implants such as pacemakers should use it only under a health professional’s supervision.

A recliner that sends pulsed pressure waves through the body with guided breathing audio, marketed for nervous system regulation: a high price on early, brand-sponsored evidence.

    What it does
Sends pulsed pressure waves along the body while you lie back with headphones and an eye mask, following guided breathing sessions from Shiftwave’s app. Select sessions adapt to your pulse, and the brand says it gives session scores and history. Shiftwave says its aim is to help regulate the autonomic nervous system.
    Range

    Subscription
Not stated. Shiftwave’s product, support and terms pages don’t mention a subscription or software fee, and the terms say software updates come at no additional cost.
    Evidence note
Shiftwave lists four white papers from Dec 2025 to Mar 2026: 10 volunteer firefighters, 22 college athletes, 31 police officers, and 101 sets of ratings from fire rescue staff. They mostly report how people rated themselves before and after sessions. Shiftwave says they were sponsored by the company, haven’t been independently peer reviewed, and are preliminary. No control or sham group is mentioned. A federally funded controlled trial with Ohio State and the Air Force Research Laboratory is enrolling, with no results yet. The brand says not to use it if pregnant or with blood clots, epilepsy, unstable angina, a retinal tear or detachment, or severe vibratory urticaria, and to ask a doctor first with a heart condition or an implant such as a pacemaker.
    US availability
Shiftwave’s own US store, based in Santa Barbara, CA. Shipping: Pro $150 to California, $300 to other states; Arc $500. 30-day returns with a full refund excluding shipping; the refund policy lists $300 flat-rate return shipping. 1-year warranty, per the brand.

An FDA-cleared home UVB panel for making vitamin D: expensive, and it stops working without a membership.

    What it does
Doesn't track anything. It's a UVB light panel that hangs on a wall or door. A built-in skin sensor sets a personal dose, and the brand says a session takes about 5 minutes once a week. Comes with a 10 ft power cord, door hanging system, skin measurement cone and protective eyewear.
    Price
$2,995 on solius.com, or Shopify Installments "as low as $150.00/month". 30-day returns even if used, but you pay return shipping and a $250 restocking fee. 1-year warranty.
    Subscription
Required. A Home Membership is $9.99/mo or $99.99/yr and covers up to 8 people in one household. If you cancel, the device can't deliver sessions once the paid period ends. Early orders currently include a free lifetime "Founding Membership"; the shop says "38% claimed - limited quantities".
    FDA status
FDA-cleared (510(k) K252960, January 2026, Class II) as an over-the-counter light panel "intended to stimulate production of Vitamin D in people 22 years and older". No prescription needed.
    Evidence note
The device-specific evidence is one Boston University study (Shirvani & Holick, Anticancer Research, 2025), which reported a 10.2 ng/mL average rise in blood vitamin D. The other benefits on the brand's site (mood, heart, gut, skin) aren't trials of this device, and its "12x" and "99% less UV" figures are its own comparisons. Vitamin D supplements are the usual cheaper route; see vitamin D. UVB exposure carries skin risks, so this is one to discuss with your doctor first.

The cheapest scales on this list: six BIA models from $24.99, with a free app and no subscription. The top model, the MorphoScan Nova, adds a handle for upper-body readings for a third of the Withings BodyScan 2's price.

    Subscription
None required. Renpho says the RENPHO Health app and its full body-composition report are free, with no paywall.
    Measures
Six smart scales in stock on Renpho's US store, all using bioelectrical impedance (BIA): Elis 1 ($24.99; 13 metrics in the app, including body fat %, muscle mass, bone mass, body water %, visceral fat, BMR and metabolic age; AAA batteries), Elis 2X ($49.99), Elis 3X and Elis Nova ($69.99 each; the 3X shows 6 metrics on its 5.33-inch display, 18 in the app, with a dial to pick profiles on the scale and USB-C charging, up to 100 days per charge), MorphoScan ($169.99) and MorphoScan Nova ($199.99). Both MorphoScans report 50+ metrics in the app, including arm, leg and torso estimates. Only the Nova has a handle with four extra electrodes (8 in all) to read the upper body directly, a 4.3-inch handle display and up to 8 user profiles. Syncs with Apple Health, Google Fit, Samsung Health and Fitbit (per Renpho).
    Evidence note
BIA is well-established for tracking body-composition trends over time, but a home scale is less precise than a DEXA scan, and Renpho's product pages don't publish a DEXA comparison. Renpho says children under 8 and people who are pregnant, or have osteoporosis, a pacemaker, artificial joints or other metal implants, should use the scale for weighing only.
    Brand estimates
Metabolic age and the other scores in the app are Renpho's own estimates, worked out from bioimpedance, weight and the profile you enter.
    US availability

    Brand says yes
    External rating
    No fair figure
    Details

Garmin's Wi-Fi smart scale: a cheaper, simpler alternative to the Hume Pod, with results in the same free app as a Garmin watch.

    Subscription
None required. Data syncs to the free Garmin Connect app.
    Measures
Weight and weight trend, BMI, body fat %, skeletal muscle mass, bone mass and body water %, by bioelectrical impedance (BIA). Up to 16 users, Wi-Fi sync to Garmin Connect, color display, 4 AAA batteries (up to 9 months, per Garmin).
    Evidence note
BIA is well-established for tracking body-composition trends over time, but a home scale is less precise than a DEXA scan, and Garmin doesn't publish a DEXA comparison for the S2. Garmin says people with pacemakers or other internal electronic devices shouldn't use it.
    US availability
Garmin's own US store, "available to ship in 1–3 business days." Black or white, $199.99.

    External rating
    Trustpilot 2.8★ (4,667)
    Details

The only scale on this list with a pull-out handle, so it reads arms, legs and torso separately, and it adds a 6-lead ECG and blood oxygen. It also costs the most.

    Subscription
None required for measurements; Withings says "your data stays free." The Heart Age and Glucose Resilience scores need Withings+ ($99.50/yr, first month free).
    Measures
Weight, body fat %, muscle mass, bone mass, body water %, visceral fat and basal metabolic rate, split by body zone (arms, legs, torso), using multi-frequency bioimpedance through the feet and a retractable handle. Also a 6-lead ECG with atrial fibrillation detection, blood oxygen (SpO2), standing heart rate, vascular age and Blood Pressure Insight notifications. Up to 8 users; rechargeable, up to a year per charge (per Withings).
    Evidence note
Withings says fat-mass readings correlate 99% with DEXA, but that comes from its own internal study of the original Body Scan, not an independent published one. Withings says BodyScan 2 "is not a medical device for diagnostic purposes," and that Blood Pressure Insights "does not measure your blood pressure."
    FDA status
Withings doesn't state one for BodyScan 2, and we found no FDA clearance naming it in the FDA's 510(k) database. Its ECG, vascular age, Heart Age and blood-oxygen readings are Withings' descriptions. FDA 510(k) database · checked Oct 31, 2026
    US availability
Withings' own US store, "In stock," free shipping and returns. Black, $599.95. The original Body Scan is still sold at $499.95.

$99/mo for "2 CGM Sensors/Month", delivered monthly (each sensor lasts 14 days). The plan includes Ultrahuman Premium (app content). One-time purchases on the US store: 1 month $129, 3 months $289, 1 year $1,229.
    Measures
Continuous glucose from interstitial fluid, streamed to the app over Bluetooth. Needs an NFC phone to activate the sensor.
    Not medical advice
Here, glucose readings are general wellness data. Anyone managing diabetes or another condition should talk to their own doctor about glucose monitoring.
    US availability
Sold on Ultrahuman's US store. In the US, Ultrahuman says it integrates with Abbott's Libre 3 Plus and Lingo biosensors, and the M2 Live plan ships Abbott Lingo sensors "in their original packaging". Ships in 3–5 business days.
    FDA status
Ultrahuman says it ships Abbott's Lingo sensor in the US: "Since Lingo Biosensor is available over-the-counter, no prescription is required." Abbott's Lingo Glucose System is FDA-cleared for over-the-counter use (510(k) K233655, May 29, 2024). That clearance is for Abbott's own system; Ultrahuman's app and readings aren't part of it. Details

An at-home urine hormone monitor that reads four reproductive hormones, with a kit marketed for tracking the perimenopause transition.

    Measures
Four hormones from one urine test wand, read by a small monitor: FSH, LH, E3G (an estrogen breakdown product) and PdG (a progesterone breakdown product), with results and symptom logging in the app.
    Range
Two kits at the same prices: the Ultra4 Kit (cycle and fertility tracking) and the Ultra4 Kit for Perimenopause. $249 with 20 wands, $269 with 30. Free shipping over $169, per Mira.
    Subscription
None required: the Mira app is free. Test wands run out and are bought separately: $99 for 20 Ultra4 wands, $139 for 30.
    FDA status (brand statement)
Mira’s page says “FDA-registered” and “ISO 13485 certified”. Registration isn’t FDA clearance or approval. Mira says Ultra4 results “are not intended to diagnose, screen for, or indicate ovarian function, egg supply, or any medical conditions” and that Mira “is not a diagnostic or contraceptive device”.
    Women's longevity
Mira’s Ultra4 Kit for Perimenopause tracks FSH, LH, E3G and PdG. Mira says it shows “how far you are from menopause” and gives “in-depth insight” after two testing cycles; those are the brand’s claims. Whether any result means something for you is a question for your doctor.
    HSA/FSA
The brand says HSA/FSA is accepted. Check with your plan administrator.
    External rating
3.3★ (808 reviews) on Trustpilot (miracare.com, a claimed profile), checked Oct 31, 2026. A company-wide rating covering all Mira kits.

What the evidence says

Plain summaries of the research behind two categories, with sources. Brand claims are labeled as brand claims.

Saunas and cold plunges

Sauna has the stronger evidence of the two, but all of it is observational. In a Finnish study of 2,315 middle-aged men followed for a median of 20.7 years, those who used a sauna 4 to 7 times a week had about half the risk of fatal cardiovascular disease, and a 40% lower risk of death from any cause, compared with men who went once a week. That shows a link, not proof of cause: men who use a sauna most days may differ in other ways. The study looked at traditional Finnish saunas. We found no long-term outcome studies like it for infrared saunas or sauna blankets.

Laukkanen et al., JAMA Internal Medicine, 2015

Cold plunge has much weaker evidence. A 2025 review of 11 randomised trials (3,177 people) found that stress was lower 12 hours after cold-water immersion and that inflammation rose briefly straight afterwards, but the authors concluded that the claimed benefits "remain unsubstantiated". None of the trials measured long-term health or lifespan.

Cain et al., PLOS ONE, 2025

Not medical advice. Heat and cold both put real strain on the heart and blood pressure. If you have a heart condition, are pregnant, or take regular medication, talk to your doctor before using either.

Home strength

Strength training has stronger evidence behind it than anything else on this page. A 2022 meta-analysis of 16 cohort studies found that muscle-strengthening activity was linked with a 10–17% lower risk of death from any cause, cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes. The largest reduction came at about 30–60 minutes a week. These are observational studies, so they show a link, not proof of cause.

Momma et al., British Journal of Sports Medicine, 2022

The CDC recommends muscle-strengthening activities on 2 or more days a week that work all major muscle groups. You don't need equipment for that: bodyweight exercises count. The products above are for people who want to train at home.

CDC physical activity guidelines for adults

Not medical advice: if you have a health condition or are new to strength training, talk to your doctor or a physical therapist first.

Building your own longevity stack?

Products are one piece of it. The quiz gives you a shortlist of testing providers, and the guide shows how testing, daily habits and products fit together.

How we list these products

How do you decide what's listed here, and how is it checked?

Every price and fact on this page was checked against the brand's own US store on the date shown, not a search snippet or press release. Prices are in US dollars, exactly as the brand shows them, with "from" kept where the brand uses it. Where we couldn't confirm something, we say so rather than guess. We list only products with a published US price: a product that's only taking deposits, or isn't sold in the US, isn't listed until that changes. No brand pays to be listed or for its position. Products are grouped by category, then ordered by price. Spotted something that's changed? Tell us through the contact form and we'll check it before updating the page.

Some brands sell several products. Why are some listed separately?

Variants of the same product (Therabody's Theragun range, Joovv's device sizes) share one listing with a price range. Genuinely different products from one brand are listed separately: Ultrahuman's Ring PRO, its Home device and its M2 Live glucose monitor, Hume's Band and Pod, and Garmin's Venu 4 watch, CIRQA band and Index S2 scale. Ultrahuman's Blood Vision is a blood test, so it's on our compare page instead. Ultrahuman's Ring AIR isn't sold in the US, per Ultrahuman, so it isn't listed.

Are these devices FDA-cleared?

We only state a device's FDA status where the brand or the FDA's own database says it, and we quote it rather than describe it in our own words. Right now that's one product: Ultrahuman says the Lingo sensor used by M2 Live is "available over-the-counter". For the other products, the brands didn't state an FDA status on the pages we checked, which tells you nothing either way. A brand's health claims (an ECG, blood-pressure readings, a "biological age") are the brand's descriptions, not our assessment.

Can I pay with an HSA or FSA?

27 of the 60 products say on the brand's own site that they're HSA/FSA eligible or can be paid for with HSA/FSA funds: Renpho LYNX Smart Ring, Whoop (5.0 / MG), Circular Ring 2, Hume Band 2.0, Withings ScanWatch 2, Muse S Athena, Ultrahuman Ring PRO, Withings Sleep, Ultrahuman Home, Renpho massage guns & Aeria Boot, Pulsetto, Renpho Artemis LED masks, HigherDOSE Red Light, Therabody TheraFace Mask, Joovv, Solius Pro, HigherDOSE Sauna Blanket, LIT Method, Inergize Health, Nordic Wave, Plunge, Renpho smart scales, Garmin Index S2, Withings BodyScan 2, Ultrahuman M2 Live, Amp and Mira Ultra4 Hormone Monitor. Garmin Venu 4, Sleepme (ChiliSleep), Orion Sleep System, Bryte Balance, Nuropod, Shiftwave, Sun Home Saunas, Ice Barrel and Almost Heaven offer HSA/FSA payment through Truemed, a third-party service. The rest don't say. Eligibility depends on your own plan, so check with your plan administrator before you pay. This isn't tax advice.

How strong is the evidence behind recovery tech?

It varies a lot by category. Percussion massage and compression have moderate support for short-term muscle soreness and recovery. Red and near-infrared light and cold plunges are where marketing claims most often outrun the research, especially claims about longevity, which have essentially no long-term outcome data behind them. Nothing on this page is medical advice: talk to a doctor if you have a condition that heat, cold or compression could affect.

Why these strength products, and not others?

We list smart strength machines and adjustable dumbbells sold direct in the US with a published price. A product needs a working official store to be listed: Beyond Power's Voltra isn't listed because its site didn't lead to a working store when we checked, and Vitruvian had no trainer on sale. Technogym's Connected Dumbbells are sold on its Australian site but not its US one. We left out racks, barbells and weight plates because they're commodity items and the choice mostly comes down to space. No brand pays to be listed.

Why don't you show "was" prices or star ratings?

We only show a price drop when we've recorded both prices ourselves, with dates. A brand's own struck-through or "compare at" price isn't enough, because inflated former prices are exactly what the FTC's guides against deceptive pricing cover. Where a brand is running a sale, we show it as a "Current offer" with the date we saw it. We never publish our own reviews or star ratings. The External rating column shows a Trustpilot figure that really exists, with its review count and the date we checked it. Most are company-wide ratings rather than ratings for one device, and the details say so.

Never ranked for money. No brand can pay to be listed or for its position. Products are grouped by category and ordered by price.
